How are you buddy? Hope you are well and healthy at home, and welcome back to my recipe and cooking article.

In this evening, I'm thinking about making crepes that are delicious, cheap, easy to make at home. So let's go straight to the discussion.

You like crepes, but you're tired of buying them at street food vendors whose menus are the same. Well, you don't have to worry, because you can make these dry crepes easily and quickly at home. Guaranteed crunchy and delicious you know.

Crepes are one of the most popular street snacks for people in Indonesia, both children and adults. In fact, from my grandparents to my younger siblings and cousins love this snack. Who doesn't know yet? Hehehe. Almost all Indonesians already know, even small children. Well, there's nothing wrong, my friend, to make your own favorite snack at home for your family, than buying it on the street. How to make it really easy, want to know? Let's learn the ingredients and tips with the complete guide below.

Crepes are a type of bread that is very thin, the ingredients are the same as cake ingredients in general, from wheat flour. This cake is well known throughout the European continent and the world, even now starting to spread throughout Indonesia.

The sweet, crunchy taste is unique, it's the most delicious mix and match of these crepes. Crepes are also safe for people of all ages to eat because there are no preservatives.

From those who are children, teenagers, parents and even grandparents really like the crepes, you know, because the texture is so crunchy. It's not only in urban areas, but crepes are sold, even in small villages in Indonesia, there are some, just maybe a different name. And usually many are selling on the side of the road.

In the village, it is better known as kue leker. And Of course with smaller portions that match the cheap rural prices. In urban areas, it is around 10,000 rupiahs and above, while in villages it is very cheap, around 100 to 3000 rupiahs, it's very economical, right.

Well.. how to make crispy crepes in wok? Maybe this question arises for the first time when we enjoy the cake. The answer is very very easy. Moreover, every Asian mother at home already has a wok, what are you waiting for, let's go to the kitchen, right?

The ingredients that we will use to make Crepes later is also easy to get at an affordable price. Let's take a look at the ingredients and the steps to make it, let's go below :) !

So, how to make Cheap, Crispy and Delicious Crepes Recipe at Home Using a Wok? Let's read more, see how below.

As usual, before cooking, there are several ingredients for making cheap crepes batter that you must prepare, such as:

  • 100 grams of Plain Flour.
  • 150 ml of fluid milk. (Can use fluid milk or powdered milk that has been mixed with warm water).
  • 1 egg
  • Butter approximately 1 tablespoon that has been melted.
  • Half a teaspoon of baking powder.

Ingredients for Topping

For the topping or filling of the crepes, you can adjust it to your taste, my friend. If you want to use bananas, first cut them into small pieces so they can be added easily.

If you don't like bananas, you can replace them with your favorite fruit, such as apples, pineapples, or roasted peanuts. Or various jams can also be used as toppings, you can add whatever ingredients you want and use your creativity.

You can also grate cheese when making crepes.

Making process

  1. The first thing you have to do is mix the fluid milk and 1 egg using a mixer in a bowl, until it is smooth and looks foamy.
  2. Add the Plain Flour little by little. However, it is more better if you add the Plain Flour while sifting so that the mixing process is easier and mix well.
  3. Then, add the baking powder and melted butter to the batter. At this point, the batter is ready to be cooked in the hot wok.
  4. Prepare a wok (a frying pan can also be used) that will be used to make crepes. Try to use a non-stick wok, to make it easier to lift.
  5. After the wok is hot, pour a spoonful of crepes batter, then turn the wok until the batter is flat and thin. You can spread the crepes batter in the wok using a wooden spatula too.
  6. Use low heat, so the crepes don't burn.
  7. Add the contents of your crepes topping according to taste.
  8. Fold the crepes in half, then fold again to form a triangle.
  9. Lift and serve to your loved ones.
